The LPS Story

Several years before Ly’s Pole Studio (aka LPS) had its physical official home, the roots of its existence was formed. In the summer of 2012, Ly Le tried her first pole class at a local pole studio and she soon discovered there was a surprising substance behind its initial allure. The class was extremely difficult while still being addictively fun. She was hooked. Three months later, she met Kelly Yvonne and decided to move to LA for rigorous professional pole training with Kelly and several different renowned instructors in LA. With 6 days a week and 10 hours of training everyday, strength and flexibility once unimaginable now seemed within reach. There’s no word to describe this incredible feeling. She decided to share her experience with others.

In January 2014, Ly began teaching pole classes out of a room in her house. Words spread and before she knew it, she had dozens of regulars lined up. 6 months later, her classes reached maximum capacity so she had to move them into a bigger house. Demand continued to rise so high beyond her expectation that finally in September 2015, LPS officially opened its 1st commercial location in North San Jose but then classes again soon were at capacity for months out. However, Ly still saw a big problem arising: With the State being increasingly populated over the years, traffic has become extremely difficult for many students to commute across the Bay Area to the San Jose area. The dream for the 2nd location on the West side of the South Bay started forming. Finally in summer 2022, LPS expanded and opened its 2nd location in Santa Clara in order to accommodate a larger crowd of students who are hungry for Pole and Aerial Arts.

LPS was impacting lives by providing a space where self-discovery and self-confidence through Pole and Aerials dance was possible. It was then she realized that she was building something bigger than a Pole Studio – a Community, and she would need highly talented instructors of diverse background to help lead the transformation, either from outside LPS or from promoting advanced students within our community to become instructors. Since July 2017, LPS has added Aerial Hoop, Aerial Silks, Aerial Hammocks, Flexibility, Partner Acrobatics, Handstand and several types of dance classes to the schedule. Until today, LPS continues to thrive and fulfill its mission: Bringing together and training some of the most talented Pole dancers and Aerialists in the world, nourishing and growing potential students to become instructors, building a community of athletes and artists, and equipped to bring anyone willing to walk through its doors along for the ride.

Pole and Aerials is not just a sport, an art, but it’s a journey of changes. This change starts within you and who knows where it will go.
